BABYMOON (HAWAII) RECAP + PREGNANCY UPDATE

It’s hard to believe I am already in the 3rd trimester of my pregnancy! I remember just a year ago I was preparing for our 1st IVF transfer (which failed) and here I am just 9 weeks away from meeting our baby boy! A couple of weeks ago we decided to do our babymoon in beautiful Hawaii. We love the weather, vibe and food of the islands and since I’m pregnant in the winter, Hawaii was an easy choice for our babymoon. We have been several times to Oahu but this would be our first time to Kauai. My agenda for our babymoon was just to RELAX. The holidays were definitely the busiest for us working in retail and we still have so much to do before the baby comes! So we used this opportunity to take in the beauty of the islands and just enjoy some husband & wifey time before we become a family of 3! I can’t wait to take our son here one day and see him experience the ocean for the first time!

Almost all of the photos were taken with our iphones as I didn’t want to take away from our trip. The hubs always brings the drone of course as he needs some creativity even on vacation. I made him take a bunch of bump photos because honestly, it was so hard to get pregnant for the 1st time that I want to make sure I remember and enjoy every moment of this. It’s amazing what a woman’s body goes through to prepare for motherhood and I already know I’m going to miss this bump of mine! I’m always in awe of this lil’ miracle growing (and kicking) inside of me!

In Oahu, we stayed at the recently remodeled and modern Alohilani Resort in Waikiki. It was just a short walk to the Waikiki beach and they also have an amazing rooftop infinity pool.

Around 24 weeks, I failed my glucose test and was recommended to monitor my glucose levels 4x a day. This involves pricking my finger and testing my levels one hour after each meal. I was pretty diligent prior to our trip and passed every time! I felt reassured that I could maintain healthy levels as long as I did smaller portions and became more active. So, truth be told, I indulged quite a bit on our trip as one of my weaknesses is Hawaiian shaved iced :). I recommend Island Vintage Shaved Iced (and also their cafe) the next time you are in Waikiki for their shaved iced and acai bowls!

We traveled to the island of Kauai next which is known for being slower paced and full of amazing greenery. We stayed at the Westin Princeville in the North Shore which is where the hubs got these stunning drone shots. And yes I don’t travel anywhere without one of my Morning Lavender maxi skirts. These skirts just are picture perfect and a great way to remember the moment!

One of the highlights of the trip was renting a convertible and driving around the lush island. I wished I had visited Kauai when I wasn’t pregnant so we could have done a helicopter tour and really got to see more of the waterfalls and beautiful scenery. Still we visited most of the gorgeous beaches and popular eateries and found so many cute spots!

We visited the South Shore as well and one of our favorite beaches, although very busy was PoiPu Beach. We caught the beautiful sunset and saw seals on the sand. It was the perfect ending to an amazing trip!

Thank you for following along on our babymoon and also our pregnancy journey! Overall I feel great and the pregnancy has been a blessing. I haven’t had many cravings or symptoms. I’ve been sick twice which has sucked but I still have so much energy at 31 weeks. My bump has grown so much and baby boy is so strong! He’s been kicking a lot lately and one of my favorite moments each day is watching the hubs talk to him. I know’s he’s going to be the most amazing father. We are praying for a healthy baby and we can’t wait to meet him! Until then we have a lot of work to do to get the home and business ready! Thank you everyone for your love and support!
