Today marks the 3 Year Anniversary of Morning Lavender and we cannot feel more #blessed. It feels like a long journey to get here but it also seems like just yesterday we were shipping out of our home garage. I’m happy and proud to say that our team has grown so much! In year 3 alone, we opened our first retail location, signed the lease for our second retail location, added 5 new employees, was featured in over 20 national publications, launched our first Classic Collection, collaborated on 2 curated collections, and doubled our social media followers!
Year 3 has also met many challenges that prove to be learning lessons for us. We seek to improve customer service, web user experience, inventory management, order fulfillment, and address the challenges of balancing both our online and retail sales channels. I feel extremely grateful to have such a hardworking team that is dedicated to improving our Company each and every day. It’s been my job to manage our great team while also forecasting and setting the vision for our Company. As we celebrate our Year 3 today, we are also extremely excited for what lies ahead! We just signed the lease for a new warehouse (doubling our current size) and are working closely with our architect and contractor for the Fall opening of our Morning Lavender OC location.
So how did we get here, you ask? Well, besides TONS of HARD WORK, we have a few guidelines that we always keep in mind when facing a decision (I will further address some of these topics in future blog posts!):
- Is this in line with our short term and long term goals?
- Is this on point with our brand message?
- How will this affect our customers?
- What is our return on investment?
- Do we have the resources and manpower to do this?
With all the growth, it’s important to us to continue to be Morning Lavender. We started out as a feminine boutique dedicated to providing beautiful clothing for women at affordable prices. We want to keep that as our focus and ensure that everything we do is in line with our goals and brand. Our customers are important to us so we have added measures like our product review system to help us know what our customers like and want. We want to deliver a better online customer experience as well as in-store experience. We have heard the news about notable retailers closing stores or downsizing and it scares us. So we want to grow but also make sure that our employees are happy, balanced, and that our overhead costs are still manageable.
So, thank you for supporting us these past 3 years. We are beyond grateful for this opportunity and your trust. We are a small Company striving to be better and we appreciate your patience and support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
