I’m blogging again from Italy and again from the beautiful Grand Hotel A Villa Feltrinelli. The scene was so breathtaking and I knew I had to wear this fabulous floral maxi shorts jumpsuit from my boutique Morning Lavender for dinner one evening. I just love how flowy and comfortable this jumpsuit is and it was perfect on the dock, overlooking Lake Garda. Besides being the perfect outfit seaside, I also think it makes a great wedding guest outfit that really stands out! This dress was a part of our #CBLxML collection and sold out the first time. We just restocked it so make sure to get your hands on one this time!
Thanks to my hubs for the amazing photography as usual!
When packing for our Eurotrip, I knew I wanted to bring some of my favorite feminine pieces as we are visiting some of the most romantic, picturesque spots in Europe. After Tuscany, we traveled to Lake Garda in Northern Italy. The area is stunning with lake and mountain views and our resort Villa Feltrinelli was out of this world. I will be sharing more about the hotel in a later post but for now I wanted to share this pretty black and white look that stands out with the gorgeous colorful backdrop of the hotel. I love the fullness of white tulle skirt and I love that whenever I wear a tulle skirt, I just feel extra feminine. It’s just a great way to make a statement anywhere you go!
Ciao from Italy again! The hubs and I are still on our summer Eurotrip and thanks to our wifi hotspot, I’ve been able to document our adventures on the blog, Instagram and Snapchat (lacenlocks)! One of the best decisions we made so far on this trip was renting a car for our stay in beautiful Tuscany! With the car, we are able to see most of the gorgeous landscape and stop for spontaneous photos when stumbling upon breathtaking spots like this cypress tree road. For our travel, I knew I had to pack this lovely off the shoulder floral maxi dress which screamed summer with it’s bright yellow color, pretty floral pattern and trending off the shoulder style. I love how the dress stands out among the trees and how easy it is to wear for day or night. Traveling fashion for me is all about comfortability and versatility while still looking cute! Also it helps to bring non-bulky items, especially when traveling for an extended period of time! Hope you are enjoying our posts – more to come!
The hubs and I are really blessed for the opportunity to shoot a beautiful wedding in Tuscany this weekend at the amazing venue La Foce! We are even more lucky to have jobs we love and travel together as the #huanderinghuangs! We went a few days early to do some location scouting, eat extra pasta/gelato and of course take in the beautiful scenery. I have been dying the find the gorgeous sunflower fields in Tuscany and happy to see they were in bloom right now. I put on this floral summer maxi dress and twirled away in the endless fields as we watched the sunset and my husband per usual, got some great shots!
Stay tuned as I blog more of our Europe trip! Follow me on Instagram @laceandlocks and Snapchat @lacenlocks where I will be sharing more of our trip regularly!
It’s time of the year when the hubs and I start traveling quite a bit for wedding photography shoots. We can’t complain – we love to travel and the fact that we get to do it together and for work makes it even more special. Whenever we go for a wedding destination shoot, we add on a few more days for ourselves. I’m not sure how we fit it all in with our businesses and busy schedules, but we try to make the most of every moment and opportunity. I must admit it gets a bit tiring to take photos for the blog everywhere after shooting countless hours for a wedding a day before, but when I see these images captured by Jason, I know it’s all worth it and thankful to have these beautiful memories to look back on! So stay tuned for more travel diaries this summer!
I’m finally getting to post a little recap of our recent trip to one of our favorite U.S. cities – San Francisco. We have family and friends in the city so it makes it an extra special place to visit for us. Jason and I are big fans of walking cities and we love that San Francisco has so much to offer every time we go. I’ve been to SF countless times before but we decided to go to some new places this time and found the views to be pretty stunning. With A LOT of encouragement from the hubs, I conquered my fears and managed to get some amazing photos from the swing at Kirby Cove. It’s a little bit of a hike, but a very easy/paved hike (and I’m not a hiker) down to the beach.
On another note, I get asked a lot about what camera I use to take my photos, especially when traveling. My husband and I are professional wedding photographers so we are equipped with the Canon 5d Mark iii and a variety of Sigma and Canon lenses. However, sometimes when we travel, we don’t want to deal with the bulkiness of lugging around our professional equipment so we invested in the Fuji XT1 which is a light, mirrorless camera and takes pretty amazing photos. We have recommended it to many friends for traveling and they love it! If you have more questions, feel free to send me a message on Snapchat (@lacenlocks). This set of photos below was actually take with the Fuji XT1:
This past weekend, I traveled with my girlfriends to beautiful Napa Valley, CA to celebrate a bachelorette party for one of my closest friends. We chose Napa for the occasion for the vino of course, but also for the breathtaking scenery and delicious food! One of our favorite experiences on the trip was wine tasting at one of our favorite vineyards, Shafer. We were treated to a tour and tasting in a small, intimate group and loved hearing about the history of the vineyard and winemakers. Known for their Hillside Select Cabernet, each wine we tasted was full of flavor and I’m not much of a wine connoisseur myself, but I thoroughly enjoyed the wines and experience at Shafer. I highly recommend this tasting to anyone and no this is not a sponsored post!
When I travel, I love packing for the location! Since Napa is such a beautiful place full of light and greenery, I packed a lot of light, feminine dresses. I already had in mind the perfect dress to wear on this trip – this lovely fit and flare stripe dress from Chicwish. This is the perfect feminine dress for the Summer and I just love the blend of cotton and polyester, not to mention the adorable bow detailing. Some of our other favorites from this trip were: AdHoc for dinner, Bouchon Bakery for bread, and Bistro Jeanty for oysters happy hour and the most amazing puff pastry tomato soup. Can you tell we did a lot of eating and drinking?! 🙂
This past week I took my Morning Lavender team to Palm Springs for a fun getaway and mini retreat. It was nice to be out of the office (despite the 100 degree weather), even if it was just for a day. I love the whole vibe of Palm Springs with it’s modern design and colorful inspiration. We rented an airbnb and just decided to stay in, grill some BBQ and relax by the pool. It was the perfect short getaway from Orange County. Here’s a recap of some of the fun photos and also what I wore while on our trip:
My off the shoulder obsession continues and I’m in love with this new red lace off the shoulder dress! I love all of the detailing, the sleeves and the of course, the bright pop of color that goes well with Palm Springs or any Summer destination. It’s a great travel dress (the thick lace doesn’t wrinkle), especially for a fun date night on your trip. It’s a sexy and flirty dress and the lace gives it an ultra feminine touch! The husband even gave me a thumbs up on this dress ;).
I just love this look so much – it’s especially perfect for travel with it’s fun stripes, comfy but cute tan wedges and the perfect boater hat to top it off. This dress is so lightweight and easy-to-wear that I also recently wore it again on our trip to Big Sur, which was so amazing! Follow me on Instagram to see more!
