We are back from Hawaii (recap coming soon) and unfortunately, work didn’t slow down while I was gone. Since we don’t have a dress code at the office (one of the perks of owning your own women’s clothing business), I’m often in jeans or dresses for work. One of my favorite Fall looks is throwing on soft pull-over sweater or a chic, but cozy cardigan to stay warm but casual through the busy work day. This cable poncho sweater has definitely been on repeat a lot this Fall and with it’s drapey shape and versatile color, you can see why it’s so easy to dress it up or down. I dressed it down here with my favorite new jeans – these dark denim raw ankle jeans that is the perfect length for petite gals like me!
It’s definitely gotten a little colder these days in SoCal although I know it doesn’t compare to elsewhere – I mean I’m not even wearing tights in this post. But it definitely is cold enough to wear a scarf :). I started this year with curating a new collection for Morning Lavender and we put together a great set of new feminine dresses, romantic skirts and stylish, easy-to-wear pieces like this sweater dress that can also be worn as a loose top over jeans. I love versatile pieces that I really get a lot of use out of. I also really love my job and even more so, I love being able to share it with you all here!
I added some fabulous over-the-knee-boots to complete the look with some color and style. This was the first time I wore the boots and I hope they don’t sag over time – a problem I have found with over suede over-the-knee-boots. Do you have a favorite pair of over-the-knee-boots?! If so, please share in the comments section below!

You may recognize this look from the new Morning Lavender Fall Lookbook I curated and styled. I loved this look so much that I decided to keep it for myself (trust me it’s hard not to want to keep everything when you own a boutique) and share that we don’t need models’ bodies to rock the same look. It’s true our model Megan looks so much better wearing it but I have learned to be happy with my petite frame and comfortable with the fact that there are things I just can’t wear or pull off with my short stature. Sometimes I think about starting a blog where I would share “what I would wear if I were normal size”. I mean there are so many cute styles that would be perfect if I were just 4 inches taller! I guess that’s why I started Morning Lavender – so I can style regular, everyday women the way I would want to dress! And every time we do a photoshoot or lookbook, it’s like I get to play dress up on a life size doll.
Anyway, I finally found this navy swing sweater dress that doesn’t look like it’s swallowing me up and is both flattering and so very comfortable. When I curated it for the shop, I especially loved the dress because of the high neck, long sleeves and slightly flared style of the dress. It really is the perfect Fall dress! To make the dress even more flattering on my frame, I added a belt to show more shape. I wore it purposely high on the waist to make my torso look shorter and the rest of me longer. I have also been loving the look of over-the-knee-boots, which elongates your legs as well. The scarf is a tad oversized for me but I think it framed the look well and added something different and playful to the outfit! Plus you can never go wrong with plaid this season! I do feel like I should be in London or somewhere more Fall than Orange County.

Hi everyone! Sorry for the slow blogging as of late! Between prepping of our HOLIDAY POP-UP SHOP and preparing for our big Asia trip in a few weeks – I have found little time to work on blog posts, not to mention even looking cute! I bought this adorable lace romper from ASOS recently and thankfully for us SoCalifornians, we can still wear it this time of the year. I paired it with a snuggly, elegant wool cardigan from Morning Lavender to add some texture and dimension to the look. I have so many more looks to share and hopefully I can get it all ready soon for y’all! Thanks for the support and I hope to see you at the Morning Lavender HOLIDAY POP-UP SHOP on November 15 & 16 in Fullerton, CA!
