I’ve been wearing a lot of denim lately (see denim off the shoulder top and denim off the shoulder dress), but I couldn’t help but get another denim piece when it’s this cute! I love the front bow and how the cutout emphasizes the bow. I aslo loved the fact that Topshop offered this in petite sizes! With the boater hat, I’m feeling a bit French in this outfit and it makes me even more anxious for our trip to France next month! Stay tuned!
During the past several months, the Morning Lavender team and I have been working with the amazingly stylish and hilarious Kathleen of Carrie Bradshaw Lied. We wanted to start a series of curated collections for Morning Lavender featuring some of our favorite fashionistas that would represent our brand well. Kathleen was one of our favorite bloggers from the beginning and her engaging personality made it even more enjoyable collaboration! We had a blast during our Palm Springs Lookbook shoot! This outfit here is one of my favorites from our #CBLxML collaboration. I love that it looks like a maxi dress but it’s really a jumpsuit! The shorts make it super comfortable to wear and the flowiness of the maxi makes you feel so fabulous. As the owner of the boutique, I wish that every item we carry fits me well, but sadly (or as my husband says gladly) I am very petite and not all styles are made for petite gals like myself. This particular maxi jumpsuit has an elastic waist so I feel like it stretches for your body and the cut makes it flattering on just about everyone. I rounded up some of my other petite-friendly styles from our #CBLxML collaboration below. I’m working on bringing more of them to Morning Lavender! Hurry though – some of the items are already selling out!
This long weekend makes me want to hang out by the pool or lounge at some fabulous resort. I’m loving palm print especially for those occasions or just about anything for this Spring/Summer seasons. I found this perfect combination of pink and palm in this adorable palm print dress from Topshop at Nordstrom’s. Its gorgeous print makes it a standout and its light weight material makes it easy for traveling. I paired it with some of my favorite summer accessories from Nordstrom, which as usual has the best selection and variety of jewelry. I can probably spend all day perusing Nordstrom’s site (especially with their current half yearly sale) and find myself completing entire looks with everything from their site – from cute sunnies to designer handbags, gorgeous shoes and of course dainty jewels. Their selection of summer jewelry like these girlie gold pieces and gorgeous gemstones added the finishing touches to this overall fun, summery look.
I found this body hugging lace midi dress from For Love & Lemons and I am in love! I love all of the lace detailing, especially the sleeves and back. It comes with a nude slip to give it a great sheer look but covers up the areas you need ;). P.S. I didn’t realize how tan I was until I wore this all white look!
Greetings from Puerto Los Cabos! The husband and I are traveling for a workcation – we just finished photographing a beautiful wedding here and now we are spending a couple of days for some R&R and celebrating my birthday :). It’s a blessing we get to travel for work and we get to do it together! When I travel, I love packing light but also bringing pieces that suit my travels and surroundings. Cabo is such a beautiful coastal town and I thought this tropical print dress from a For Love & Lemons & Urban Outfitters collaboration would be perfect! Follow me on Instagram and Snapchat (lacenlocks) to see more of our silly adventures!
I’ve been lusting over off the shoulder looks of late and this dress in a pretty color from ASOS is stylish and comfortable. I’ve also been a big fan of neutral accessories and my summer go-to-bag is this versatile cross body from Madewell. It works with a variety of looks and perfect for traveling! Guess where the hubs and I are off to next?!
Today I’m sharing another recent favorite romper of mine – this one from my boutique Morning LavenderMorning Lavender Lace Romper. Rompers are a pain for us girls to use the bathroom but I swear they are so comfy and cute – it makes up for it! A sad story (kind of) about my shoes – recently on our flight from Boston->NYC, we noticed upon landing in NYC that someone had broken the lock on our checked in suitcase. It was not TSA because they would not have to break the lock and because they usually leave a note if they had searched our bag. Our bag looked like it had been rummaged through but at first inspection, it looked as if nothing had been stolen. A couple of days later while in NYC, I was looking for my favorite mules (pictured below) and noticed they were nowhere to be found! Someone had stolen my mules that were sold out on Nordstrom and Dillards! And they were size 5 – who steals size 5 shoes?! I’m fortunate they weren’t my favorite pair of bow shoes, but still just the thought of someone violating your stuff sucks. I went on a frantic search online and actually found them on sale at Nordstrom Rack! So I bought 2 new pairs (size 6) but they are just a teeny bit too big. So that’s my shoe story and moral of the story? Don’t steal people!
By now, you know my fondness for lace and rompers. Get them together and add pockets and I’m in love! Summer is the perfect time of the year to wear rompers and I especially love wearing ones that you can easily transition to night. I curated this particular one for Morning Lavender because I just love the delicate detail throughout, contrasting nude lining underneath and open key hole back. There are so many details of this romper – it’s hard to believe how inexpensive it is!
Oh summer how I love thee… Summer is the perfect time for me to wear some of my favorite things: rompers and hats. I love rompers because they can be comfortable and stylish at the same time (can we say adult onesies?!) and I love hats because they make you feel so darn cool. I am slightly obsessed with the print and fit of this strapless tropic romper from Topshop. I wore it with my favorite new wedges from Toms and I’m pretty much in the exact type of outfit you can find in me all summer. I also took these photos outside my new favorite local eatery spot – the Anaheim Packing House. You should definitely check it out if you live in Southern California!
Who doesn’t love a skirt with great movement?! This ASOS skirt in a bright purple is purrrfect for the summertime. I love wearing my skirts high waisted and pairing them with crop tops to add some much needed length to my look. I added my favorite summer floppy hat and I’m good to go!
This is probably the first weekend in a long time I am NOT working. I will be celebrating my best friend’s bachelorette this weekend so follow my INSTAGRAM for some snippets of all the fun and yes it will be a tame one! 🙂
