Hi folks!!!! First of all, Jason & I want to THANK YOU for all your thoughtful messages regarding my last post. The past 3 weeks have not been easy but I’m finally starting to feel like myself again. I am now off my IVF hormones and finally not feeling bloated all of the time. My spirit and confidence are coming back and I’m starting to feel more comfortable dressing cute and sharing some #OOTD with you all. The weather has also been super warm lately so I’m busting out my favorite items to wear for Spring – jumpsuits and rompers. Seriously I have an obsession with these adult size onesies – I probably have enough to wear one every day of the month! This new one from my boutique – Morning Lavender is my new favorite jumpsuit because (1) I’m a sucker for anything yellow and (2) because it has the most adorable bow in the back! Not to mention how comfortable this jumpsuit is – I feel like I’m wearing really chic pajamas! And yes these images were photographed by the hubs outside Morning Lavender Cafe because that’s where we spend all of our time now!
To be honest, my husband kind of laughed at me when he saw me in this dress. He gave me that “are you serious?” face and I joked with him and said “you just don’t understand fashion”. Yes the sleeves are kind of ridiculous but I love them and ruffles are super popular right now. And I finally found the perfect size off the shoulder ruffle dress that isn’t too long on me! If I had more time, I’d probably alter the sleeves an inch or two but honestly I couldn’t get enough of this fun dress! It might get a laugh from the hubs, but it definitely makes a statement!
I’m adding a pop of color to my wardrobe with this lovely colorblock midi skirt that comes in both petite and regular sizes from Ann Taylor. I love the range of pretty blue, pink and yellow colors in this skirt which makes the perfect statement for the weekend but also wearable for the office. Add a blazer and you got yourself a chic, preppy look!
Maxi dress season is pretty much year round for me. Although I’m super petite, I love wearing maxi dresses and don’t even mind having to get them altered. Worn right, I feel as if maxi dresses can make you appear taller by wearing one color or pattern from head-to-toe. Luckily I found this darling cold shoulder floral maxi dress that didn’t require any alterations. ASOS offers a great line for petites and I often find cute and affordable trendy pieces from them. I didn’t see the dress in a regular length but it does come in a tall length for you gals that don’t have a height disadvantage ;).
It’s full on romper season for me and I love it! Add ruffles and an adorable self-tying bow and I’ve found myself the perfect romper. Besides the annoying inconvenience of taking off your romper when you go to the bathroom (you know what I’m talking about ladies), rompers for me are so easy and versatile to wear. When I can’t decide what to wear, I throw on a stripe or floral romper for my go-to look for everyday casual wear and for nights out when I don’t feel like wearing a dress, I’ll put on a darker or lacey romper, add a fitted blazer and cute black clutch.
I feel very fortunate that my husband and I have so many opportunities to travel together. We spent last week in Charleston hanging out with our good friends and enjoying all of the Southern hospitality this beautiful city has to offer. My husband takes all of my photos for me so it’s rare when I can get him in front of the camera as well. I love having him by my side and thankful we were able to get some photos of us together for a change! And we didn’t purposely match that day but we did! I’ve been loving 2 piece sets lately (see my previous 2 piece lemon outfit) and this eyelet set from J.Crew was too darling to resist. I love that that combined they make this chic look but also work so well as separates. The pieces were versatile on the trip as I was able to make different outfits on different days – I paired the top with a yellow maxi skirt and the skirt with a chambray shirt. My husband was very happy that I was able to save luggage space by packing versatile items.
Greetings from Charleston, South Carolina! We are here on a short vacation with some friends and it’s our first time visiting this charming city! I will recap our trip in a future blog post (in the meantime follow me on Instagram Stories @laceandlocks) but first I wanted to share a pretty seaside look I wore today at Folly Beach in South Carolina. We made our way over there to check some of the East Coast shores and it although it wasn’t quite bright, sandy beaches we have in SoCal, it was still lovely and exactly how I imagined a beach on the East Coast to be. I wore my favorite new gingham maxi dress from J.Crew that comes in both regular and petite sizing! I actually wore flat sandals with this dress! I love the silhouette of this dress with it’s high waisted and fit and flare shape. Gingham is totally trending now and you don’t want to miss out on this perfect Spring/Summer piece!
And P.S. I’m wearing my new Cult Gaia ark bag again! I only packed 2 handbags for this trip (more of my travel tips in a later post) so you will be seeing this bag a lot ;).
So I caved in and got the IT BAG everyone has been carrying around this season. I didn’t want it at first because I saw it everywhere but it really is adorable and I’m so happy I finally got it! The Cult Gaia ark bag was the perfect compliment to this two piece lemon print outfit. I love playing around with prints during Spring & Summer and lemons are back again this season along with florals and fruits. I just love how flirty and fun this look from For Love & Lemons is!
Today I’m sharing this flirty white lace dress that’s as cute from the back as it is from the front! I love lace dresses that have that extra special detail to them and this one wins with the cutest ruffles. I’ve been asked a lot about my experience with shopping at Chicwish and I must say although it takes a while to get your merchandise (~ 2-3 weeks), the quality is surprisingly good for the affordability. This dress is only $56! I would order from them if you aren’t in a rush to get your items but do want something trendy and cute. And you can see where I like to splurge – my handbags :). I’m wearing my favorite Chanel Vanity Bag – it was such a journey to get this bag (I called a billion Chanel stores domestic and international before getting it through the personal shopping department at Saks Fifth Avenue) and I’m clearly obsessed with it.
It’s the season for maxi dresses and I can’t get enough of the floral print on this gorgeous maxi from my boutique, Morning Lavender. I love the off the shoulder vibes as well as the higher waist line which makes any gal look taller. I’m contemplating cutting off the halter straps (easy DIY) to make this dress true off the shoulder. FYI – I didn’t have the dress altered in length – I’m wearing 4 inch platform heels here!
