I’m adding a pop of color to my wardrobe with this lovely colorblock midi skirt that comes in both petite and regular sizes from Ann Taylor. I love the range of pretty blue, pink and yellow colors in this skirt which makes the perfect statement for the weekend but also wearable for the office. Add a blazer and you got yourself a chic, preppy look!
Pale Dogwood is one of the pantone colors of the year and our Morning Lavender Pleated Maxi Skirt is the perfect shade of beige nude. I love how flowy the skirt is with the pretty pleats! The skirt does run a tad long for us petite gals so I hemmed it a bit and wore some pretty tall heels. I’m also a fan of wearing skirts high on the waist to elongate the lower half of your body. I added an edge to this feminine skirt by layering it with a fitted faux leather jacket. Our Morning Lavender clothes are meant to be feminine but as seen here, if you style it a certain way, you can change the vibe of the whole look! It’s important to me when curating for the shop that I include versatile and classic pieces that many women can enjoy.
I can’t believe we are two-thirds of the way done with August!!! Fall is just around the corner and for today’s blog post, I put together a great Fall transition look with Nordstrom. From Nordstrom’s site, I found a variety of must have pieces for your Fall closet. These pieces I’m sharing are truly versatile in color and style as they can be worn together or separately to complete any look. I especially love this striped mini skirt that is so cute and chic and will look great with anything from a pullover sweater, chambray shirt or a lace top. The skirt is actually petite sizing and I’m happy that I can find so many petite and XS options from Nordstrom. Nordstrom has such a wide selection of Fall items already and I’m so excited for all the Fall layers and colors! Now I just have to wait for it to get chillier here in Southern California ;).
I also showed in this post that this look can easily be changed from day to night just by changing to some cute strappy heels. This darling Kate Spade Crossbody also converts easily into a clutch with an easy to remove strap!

Paris is one of our favorite cities in the world so the hubs and I always find ourselves traveling back there. We even got married in France! We love taking in the sights, culture, food and just the beautiful architecture. I love the ornate detailing of so many of the buildings and the romantic vibe of the entire city. I combined my love for feminine clothing with the city’s romantic setting and came up with this colorful, feminine look. I wear this lace top often because it goes so great with skirts. One of my favorite ways to wear it is with a full maxi skirt as seen in this blog post. The lace top worked well with my new colorblock midi skirt and I loved all of the pretty colors in one skirt.

Bonjour from Paris! I fell in love with this lemon midi skirt for our Morning Lavender boutique and I knew I had to pack it for our trip to Paris! I just LOVE the lemon print and the flare shape of this skirt. Plus it comes in XS so it fits us petite gals quite well :). One of our favorite things to do in Paris is just to walk around and take in all of the beautiful sights (and we may or may not have been playing PokemonGo as well). I wore this skirt walking around the beautiful Tuileries Garden in Paris and got so many compliments. It was the perfect feminine skirt for such a romantic city!
When packing for our Eurotrip, I knew I wanted to bring some of my favorite feminine pieces as we are visiting some of the most romantic, picturesque spots in Europe. After Tuscany, we traveled to Lake Garda in Northern Italy. The area is stunning with lake and mountain views and our resort Villa Feltrinelli was out of this world. I will be sharing more about the hotel in a later post but for now I wanted to share this pretty black and white look that stands out with the gorgeous colorful backdrop of the hotel. I love the fullness of white tulle skirt and I love that whenever I wear a tulle skirt, I just feel extra feminine. It’s just a great way to make a statement anywhere you go!
I’m a sucker for striped skirts (see my previous navy striped skirt post) and what feminine gal doesn’t love a classic black and white combo?! I love how this skirt flares like a bell and it’s petite friendly sizing from ASOS prevents the horizontal stripes from overwhelming me. I went classic with this look with a cute bow top, my favorite Chanel and my new, pretty bow pumps.
Yes I have this gorgeous skirt from Morning Lavender in every color – the pink maxi skirt, the yellow maxi skirt, the gold maxi skirt and now this beautiful blue maxi skirt! I just love this bright blue color for Spring and who doesn’t love the flowiness of these skirts?! I had to get the waist taken in a little to raise the skirt higher on the waist – which meant I didn’t have to raise the hem and it made the bottom half of me look quite long. I find this blue color is really easy to wear and works well in many occasions. In honor of our Morning Lavender San Francisco Pop-Up Shop happening this weekend (see flyer below for more details), we are giving away one Amelia Blue Maxi Skirt to one random winner through an Instagram Giveaway! Check my @laceandlocks Instagram for more details!
My love for scallops and stripes this Spring continues! This blush scallop mini skirt is just the perfect shade of pink and the right length to make it easy-to-wear and pair with anything. Plus it matches my Chloe Mini Drew perfectly :). You’ll be seeing a lot more of this rosy pink color this year as it’s one of the Pantone colors of the year. I don’t mind – I find it an easy alternative and just as versatile as white or other neutrals.
As you can tell, I’m loving stripes lately (all the time actually) as I shared this simple stripe sheath dress just last week. I love me a good midi skirt and Spring/Summer is the perfect time to add a pretty one in white and navy stripes. I love the fullness of this skirt from J.O.A.. I think I love scallops as much as stripes so I paired it with this versatile and easy-to-wear scallop top from my Morning Lavender Boutique.
I’d love to hear your favorite Spring Trends going on right now! Share in the comments section below and I’ll try to find beautiful pieces that match for upcoming posts!
