I put together this classic look filled with some of my favorite things: bows, polka dots, neutrals and of course Chanel :). This is a great look that’s perfect for the office and Fall weather. I love how feminine and classic pieces work well in this neutral palette.
This Fall, blush and burgundy are colors that are currently trending. Combining these colors together create a pretty feminine look that adds some lightness to usual darker fall tones. I created this ready for the office look with this burgundy pencil skirt from Banana Republic, which I may add is currently ON SALE! I combined it with some old favorites from the closet because lets face it, we can’t always buy new stuff! While it’s fun to stay on trend, remember to shop for classic pieces that you can wear repeatedly.
Happy Monday folks! Here is my 3rd look with the versatile lace two piece set from Morning Lavender! I wanted to style a look appropriate for the office/work with the lace skirt. I paired it with a cropped tweed jacket also from Morning Lavender and my new cute bow clutch from Kate Spade (yes I love bows as much as I love lace). I love how the lace skirt can be stylish but it’s length and neutral color makes it appropriate for the workplace. Stay tuned for my fourth and final look coming later this week!
I seriously have spent most of last year searching for the perfect wide leg black pant! I wanted them to be high-waisted and the pant leg to be wide but not too wide where my small frame looks like I am swimming in them! And then recently I found the perfect pair from Ann Taylor. I got these pants in size 00 Petite and they fit me perfectly and they are currently 60% off! I love the silhouette of the pants and with a pair of black heels or booties – you can amazingly look way taller. I also paired the pants with a lovely blouse also from Ann Taylor (and 40% off) and my classic camel coat from Morning Lavender. I love this head-to-toe chic workday look! It’s time to get cranking in 2015!
I’m sorry for the lack of posts lately! It’s been a crazy few weeks with work but I promise I have a lot of posts coming up! I love wearing this shift dress from Liberty Sage because it is so chic and comfortable at the same time! Plus it is a beautiful shade of gray! I also love dressing up simple pieces like this dress by adding sparking jewelry, fun shoes and a larger handbag.
There is seriously something so feminine and flattering about Ann Taylor dresses. The shape of this dress is especially flattering and I love the mix of camel and black. It’s a great go-to dress for wanting to look polished and sophisticated without breaking the bank. And the best part is that is currently 30% OFF on the WEBSITE!
Here’s a great peplum top that can be worn dressy or casual – dress it up with nice pants or a pencil skirt or a more casual look with jeans. I love the shape of this top and the black & white stripes. Horizontal stripes are not always the most flattering but this top works because of the fit. I got the top in a petite size so the waist part hit at the perfect spot and didn’t make my torso look too long (or my legs too short – gotta get any help I can get :)). I paired it with these great fitting camel pants from Banana Republic for a classic look.
For me I love to have classic go to pieces like these in my closet – the classic trench coat and a sophisticated tweed dress. These pieces are great to dress up any look for work or a business meeting. And luckily for me I found both in petite sizes from Banana Republic! Some days (and the key word here is some) I wish I was still in the Corporate world so I dress like this more often, but many days I’m thankful I can wear my PJs while editing and comfy clothes and flats when photographing clients =).
P.S. This is actually my husband’s favorite coat on me, maybe because it’s a coat Olivia Pope might wear from Scandal…hmmm…
I usually avoid color block dresses because I tend to feel most of them have blocks that don’t flatter petite frames. But this gorgeous dress from Ann Taylor had the proportions in all the right places. I especially love the details of the dress such as the boatneck, boxy shoulders and the bow belt. This dress is definitely suitable for the office or the perfect lunch date.
On a side note, my husband commented on this shoot that I was showcasing my favorite Chanel handbag waaay too much lol. I can’t help it – it really does go with everything! But I also took it as his blessing to get something new and pretty for myself =). Hint taken honey! I guess I have to go shopping now…
