It’s still pretty hot in Southern California and I’m holding on to every last bit of summer! I’ve been super into ruffles and stripes lately so when I curated this ruffle stripe dress for Morning Lavender, I knew I had to snag one for myself :). By the way, this dress is suppose to be off the shoulder but I made it strapless as I felt it fitted my petite frame better.

It’s my birthday and I’ll wear green if I want to! :). I usually don’t wear a lot of green but whenever I do, I always wonder why I don’t wear more of the gorgeous color. I just adore all of the pretty lace dresses from ASOS and instantly fell in love with this off the shoulder lace midi dress in the prettiest shade of emerald green. I love the midi lengths ASOS carries – you might remember me in this pink lace midi dress in this blog post HERE. They have so many gorgeous styles in this type of lace – check out the end of my blog post for some of my favorites!
To be honest, my husband kind of laughed at me when he saw me in this dress. He gave me that “are you serious?” face and I joked with him and said “you just don’t understand fashion”. Yes the sleeves are kind of ridiculous but I love them and ruffles are super popular right now. And I finally found the perfect size off the shoulder ruffle dress that isn’t too long on me! If I had more time, I’d probably alter the sleeves an inch or two but honestly I couldn’t get enough of this fun dress! It might get a laugh from the hubs, but it definitely makes a statement!
It’s the season for maxi dresses and I can’t get enough of the floral print on this gorgeous maxi from my boutique, Morning Lavender. I love the off the shoulder vibes as well as the higher waist line which makes any gal look taller. I’m contemplating cutting off the halter straps (easy DIY) to make this dress true off the shoulder. FYI – I didn’t have the dress altered in length – I’m wearing 4 inch platform heels here!
It looks like the off the shoulder trend isn’t going anywhere and I’m not complaining one bit! I adore off the shoulder styles as they are very flattering for my neckline and I love finding them a variety of styles and prints. This fitted, bardot style dress from ASOS has a gorgeous Spring print and its petite sizing makes the fit perfect for my frame. I love pairing a beautiful print like this with simple, feminine accessories!
On today’s post, I’m sharing a very pretty off the shoulder lace dress in the prettiest shade of mauve. This dress is meant to be midi on most average heights (see dress on the model) but on my petite frame, it cuts right at my ankles when I wear heels. It’s kind of a weird spot for the dress to hit but I still think it’s a very flattering dress due to its high waisted seam. I love Spring and I’m looking forward to all of the gorgeous Spring dresses!
If you have been following my blog, you know I love off the shoulder styles. I found this burgundy red off the shoulder sweater dress and I knew it would make a perfect Valentine’s date night dress. I love the fitted shape of the dress and how it hugs your body in a flattering way. This is probably the simplest look I’ve put together for Valentine’s Day compared to past years. You can find me in dressier looks with this pink tulle skirt and this black maxi tulle skirt.
Hello 2017! This my first blog post of the year and I want to apologize for being so MIA these past few months. I’ve been juggling being a girlboss/wife/daughter/sister/friend. I spent A LOT of time since September traveling back and forth to San Francisco as we opened our first Morning Lavender Boutique! It has been an intensely rewarding last few months and I’m so proud of what our team has accomplished! Things are finally settled at our SF boutique which means I will be home a bit more and able to get back to some of my regular routine like blogging! I’ve been living in this cozy and stylish off the shoulder camel sweater. I love wearing trendy pieces that are also extremely comfortable and versatile.
I also finally got the chance to wear these Stuart Weitzman Highland Over the Knee Boots that I bought for myself over Christmas. I’ve been eyeing them for so long that I decided to finally #treatmyself and give in to these beauties. I am surprised at how comfortable they are and so far they have not scrunched or sagged down which I found to be a problem with other suede over the knee boots. I love them so much already that I’m contemplating getting them in black too!
I love how versatile and comfy this off the shoulder romper is! It’s such a simple look that can be dressed down or up. I added a cute belt and some of my favorite accessories to pull this simple look together. With the dark denim wash, this romper is a great transition from Summer to Fall.

I just love how comfy and chic off-the-shoulder culotte jumpsuit is! It’s perfect for traveling because it’s lightweight and you can dress it up or down. I wore my mules for a bit but switched out to cute tortoise sandals when we walked around a bit more. I love hanging out by the Seine River in Paris. The light was just magical towards sunset and we just sat by the river and enjoyed the beautiful weather and ambiance.
I hope you are enjoying all of our travel posts! More on the way!
