On the last leg of our Southern trip, we took a day trip to Savannah from Charleston. Ever since watching The Notebook, I always wanted to find those grand trees with hanging moss and we ventured to Savannah in search of them and delicious Southern food. Our first stop was downtown Savannah where we walked around the beautiful and historic neighborhoods. We waited in line for an amazing Southern meal at Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room. It was quite an experience where you shared over 20 pre-set dishes like fried chicken, cornbread, collard greens, mashed potatoes, etc… in a family style setting. After lunch, we headed to the Wormsloe Historic Site and took advantage of the beautiful scenery as I wore my favorite off-the-shoulder maxi dress. I must say, the 2 miles of lined trees was even more stunning in person. It was worth the 2 hour drive from Charleston to see all the beauty Savannah has to offer!
Hi friends! So I decided to start a new series on my blog called #Bosslady Lessons, where I provide an insight into my life as an entrepreneur and small business owner. Join me as I provide lessons, strategy, and tips on what it’s really like to own your own business. I’m also looking forward to your questions and suggestions for content regarding this. I receive quite a bit of emails on this topic and I’d love to have a forum to share my thoughts to your questions!
It’s the season for maxi dresses and I can’t get enough of the floral print on this gorgeous maxi from my boutique, Morning Lavender. I love the off the shoulder vibes as well as the higher waist line which makes any gal look taller. I’m contemplating cutting off the halter straps (easy DIY) to make this dress true off the shoulder. FYI – I didn’t have the dress altered in length – I’m wearing 4 inch platform heels here!
Spring is here and I’m happy as can be with the warmer days, extra sunlight and my favorite – Spring rompers! The one shoulder trend has made a come back this season and I’m OBSESSED with this new one shoulder striped romper I curated for Morning Lavender. I feel extra girlie and feminine in this romper with its ruffle detailing, bow waist and pretty powder blue stripes. I also compiled some of my other favorite cute rompers of the moment at the bottom of this post so be sure to check them out!
Stripes are one of my favorite trends for Spring and this cute stripe midi dress I curated for Morning Lavender is so darling with its self-tying bow straps! The midi length on this dress gives it a classic, sophisticated look while the adjustable straps and waist tie are super flattering. I’m a fan of anything flattering and functional!
February is halfway here and I can’t believe we are almost transitioning into Spring! To transition to Spring, I’ve been updating my wardrobe with more color and more floral. This yellow floral maxi dress I curated for Morning Lavender is a pretty and perfect transition to Spring! I am obsessed with the bright pop of yellow and the flattering wrap style of the dress. Plus the high-low hem of the dress makes it petite friendly for gals like me ;).
If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with anything with bows so naturally when I found this darling Bow Dress, I was in love! The dress has a flattering fit and flare shape and the low back adds a interesting and adorable detail. This dress is perfect for your Valentine’s date night but also for a fun event or party. It has the right amount of cuteness and fun!
If you have been following my blog, you know I love off the shoulder styles. I found this burgundy red off the shoulder sweater dress and I knew it would make a perfect Valentine’s date night dress. I love the fitted shape of the dress and how it hugs your body in a flattering way. This is probably the simplest look I’ve put together for Valentine’s Day compared to past years. You can find me in dressier looks with this pink tulle skirt and this black maxi tulle skirt.
Pale Dogwood is one of the pantone colors of the year and our Morning Lavender Pleated Maxi Skirt is the perfect shade of beige nude. I love how flowy the skirt is with the pretty pleats! The skirt does run a tad long for us petite gals so I hemmed it a bit and wore some pretty tall heels. I’m also a fan of wearing skirts high on the waist to elongate the lower half of your body. I added an edge to this feminine skirt by layering it with a fitted faux leather jacket. Our Morning Lavender clothes are meant to be feminine but as seen here, if you style it a certain way, you can change the vibe of the whole look! It’s important to me when curating for the shop that I include versatile and classic pieces that many women can enjoy.
Say hello to the perfect fringe shawl! I’ve been wearing this cozy cardigan everywhere – over a slim black dress like this or paired with my favorite high-waisted jeans and booties. It has the perfect amount of drape, comes in a gorgeous taupe color and looks way more elegant than the price. Note: it’s sold out in size Small (which I’m wearing) BUT I’ve tried on both the size Medium & Large and the main difference in sizes is the length of the back. I almost went with the Large size because I wanted a longer length in the back! Hurry and get yours because they have already sold out in our San Francisco boutique!
I also wanted to take some time today and thank everyone for the support of my boutique business! We recently opened our first Morning Lavender brick-and-mortar boutique in San Francisco so I’ve been commuting back and forth from Orange County on a weekly basis as we staff the store and get things settled! It has been a DREAM and we are overwhelmed with all of the love and support. I haven’t had much time for myself lately, especially to shop so the blog has been a bit slower but I promise to get back to styling some great looks for you all!
