So I’ve been wanting to start this for awhile now but never really had the confidence to do so (I really don’t like hearing myself talk and “do I really have anything interesting to share?!“). After much encouragement from the hubs and probably 2 years later than planned, I finally decided to get out of my comfort zone and start my own YouTube channel!!! I feel a little late to the game as all the kids these days seem to be really good at this YouTube stuff but I’m gonna give it a try!
With our busy lives, I thought it might be interesting to share some behind-the-scenes of what it’s really like to be a #bosslady, wife, blogger and homeowner. We have some exciting projects in the works, including a new Morning Lavender store and remodeling our new home so be sure SUBSCRIBE to my channel to see all the craziness that is about to happen.
P.S. I know the volume of the music is too high – I will be making adjustments in future videos! Thank you for the feedback!
After doing my first VLOG, I got a little bit more confidence to make a style video with Morning Lavender as well! I’m only 5 feet tall so I’m always self-conscious about how I fit in clothes and look on camera (I know it’s weird because I have a fashion blog) so this was very nerve-wracking. Luckily, I’ve learned a lot after doing countless Morning Lavender photoshoots and working with our awesome models so I was able to pull off this style video! It was important for me to do a “Buyer Haul” to show how much thought and love goes into my curation process for the store. Everything you see on Morning LavenderIS actually handpicked by me and I feel a great attachment to all of our cute pieces.
It’s still pretty hot in Southern California and I’m holding on to every last bit of summer! I’ve been super into ruffles and stripes lately so when I curated this ruffle stripe dress for Morning Lavender, I knew I had to snag one for myself :). By the way, this dress is suppose to be off the shoulder but I made it strapless as I felt it fitted my petite frame better.
Just wanted to start off by saying THANK YOU to everyone who has wished me well this past few weeks. I felt a bit overwhelmed most of June from being sick, to our big home move (and remodel) and tackling all of these incredibly exciting (but stressful) projects happening for work. I decided to take a brief break from blogging as I regathered myself emotionally. I feel so much better after a much needed break and extra support from family and friends during this stressful period. I didn’t want to stay away for too long as there are just so many cute summer clothes and amazing sales that are about to happen! So I’m back – recharged, re-energized and ready with a closetful of goodies to show you ;). I will also be back with some more Bosslady Lessons so stay tuned for that as well!
Now that July is here and summer is in full swing, I’m posting some great summer wedding guest outfits. I wore this super cute and super comfy ruffle maxi jumpsuit to a wedding a few months ago and the shorts underneath definitely made getting my groove on a whole lot easier ;). I just love the ruffle detail on this jumpsuit and how nicely the whole thing flows. Keep in mind the top part is sheer so make sure you get one of these backless sticky bras (one of my undergarment must haves).
Lately, life has been extremely hectic so I love having a simple, go-to denim look that I can just throw on and be ready for work and whatever comes my way. We carry these adorable scallop tops at Morning Lavender that come in a variety of colors. The top is so simple yet versatile and goes great with jeans or tucked in a skirt or dress pants. I’ve also been obsessed with layering gold necklaces as of late and this choker-long necklace combo from Mejuri is perfect.
My love for ruffles continues today with this fabulous wrap ruffle skirt from Morning Lavender! Since it’s a self tying wrap skirt, the adjustable waist allows petite gals like me who usually wears XS to fit a size Small. The skirt is so fun and you can dress it up with a dressier top or blouse or dress it down with simple white tee. It’s such a great skirt to pack for upcoming travel!
On the last leg of our Southern trip, we took a day trip to Savannah from Charleston. Ever since watching The Notebook, I always wanted to find those grand trees with hanging moss and we ventured to Savannah in search of them and delicious Southern food. Our first stop was downtown Savannah where we walked around the beautiful and historic neighborhoods. We waited in line for an amazing Southern meal at Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room. It was quite an experience where you shared over 20 pre-set dishes like fried chicken, cornbread, collard greens, mashed potatoes, etc… in a family style setting. After lunch, we headed to the Wormsloe Historic Site and took advantage of the beautiful scenery as I wore my favorite off-the-shoulder maxi dress. I must say, the 2 miles of lined trees was even more stunning in person. It was worth the 2 hour drive from Charleston to see all the beauty Savannah has to offer!
Hi friends! So I decided to start a new series on my blog called #Bosslady Lessons, where I provide an insight into my life as an entrepreneur and small business owner. Join me as I provide lessons, strategy, and tips on what it’s really like to own your own business. I’m also looking forward to your questions and suggestions for content regarding this. I receive quite a bit of emails on this topic and I’d love to have a forum to share my thoughts to your questions!
It’s the season for maxi dresses and I can’t get enough of the floral print on this gorgeous maxi from my boutique, Morning Lavender. I love the off the shoulder vibes as well as the higher waist line which makes any gal look taller. I’m contemplating cutting off the halter straps (easy DIY) to make this dress true off the shoulder. FYI – I didn’t have the dress altered in length – I’m wearing 4 inch platform heels here!
