Now that the weather is warmer and the days are longer, you will find me in more color and more maxis! It’s no secret I love maxi dresses. I use to think I was too short to wear maxi dresses and the thought of having to alter the length in maxi dresses proved too frustrating. In recent years, I started to pay more attention to the details in maxi dresses – the differences in lengths, materials, patterns and fit. I learned that with the right maxi, you can actually look taller! I recently curated this gorgeous, colorful maxi dress for Morning Lavender and I fell in love with the bold, beautiful pattern and colors. But what I also love is how the adjustable sphagetti straps and waist tie make it easy for any gal to wear – whether you or taller, need waist definition or petite like me. The vertical stripes in the pattern also play a part in adding the illusion of height which I so desperately need ;). I loved wearing this dress this past weekend in Palm Springs – it’s the perfect maxi for the perfect time of the year!
I love me a maxi dress that can be stylish and comfy at the same time. This one from my shop, Morning Lavender comes in a pretty paisley print and has tons of boho flair to it. Its warmer tones and longer sleeves make it an easy summer-to-fall transition piece. Because it’s still warm and summery in Socal, I paired the dress with my favorite wedges and summer hat. I’m still loving the warm weather although I have a huge obsession with fall clothes as well!
I guess you can tell by the name of my blog that I love LACE. I mean I would wear/buy anything that probably has some sort of lace on it. Put some lace on a beautiful maxi dress and I am in heaven. I love this one from Revolve because it has such a pretty, simple back detail. It’s the perfect dress to wear on the beach, as a guest to a summer outdoor wedding or for a romantic weekend getaway. If I could sleep in maxi dresses, I would.
My love for maxi dresses continues in today’s post! I mean who doesn’t love a stylish piece that is also comfortable?! When I saw the back of this Urban Outfitters dress, I knew I just had to have it. I actually think this dress is perfect for so many occasions – a fun day out, a Sunday brunch or even an outdoor summery wedding.
I have a certain fondness for maxi dresses and this particular one from BB Dakota just makes me smile. It is so colorful and fun that I can’t help but feel happy and bright whenever I wear it. Oh and I know I’ve been rocking the round sunglasses a lot lately so I thought I’d try something new with these mirrored Ray-Ban Aviators. I love the new, fun twist on these classic sunnies. Gotta mix it up a bit, ya know?
Maybe it’s the photographer in me, but I love dresses that have a lot of movement. And it’s definitely the shorty in me that prefers maxi dresses because they can make you look taller =). I love this flowy maxi dress from ASOS with it’s beautiful lace details. And these photos may look effortless (hopefully) but it took a lot of patience (from the hubs) and shots to get the perfect flair from the dress. I have A LOT of respect for my couples and all the models/fashion bloggers out there now. DO try this at home with your favorite flowy dress =).
P.S. I can’t thank the hubs enough for helping me with the new blog! His talent is amazing and his helpfulness is even greater. On every shoot so far, he’s been zipping me up, fixing my hair and adjusting my wardrobe. I think he’s learning more than he wants to about women’s fashion lol.
