I partnered with Rent the Runway for this post to show that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to look and feel glam! If you can’t tell by now, I just love dressing up for the holidays (or really any occasion) and I don’t feel the need to spend a ton of money just to look fab. You can feel glam in a designer dress like the one I’m wearing here from Monique Lhuillier for a fraction of the price thanks to Rent the Runway’s amazing selection of designer dresses and sizes (I was able to find something for petite lil’ ol’ me). I especially love this dress because it’s not your standard classic black dress – it has a great fit and flare shape with a gorgeous train, lace trim details and a sexy v-neck back. It has that wow factor but is classy in black at the same time. It would be an amazing dress to wear to a gala or black tie event! And the best part is you can use my special code to rent any dress you want from Rent the Runway for 20% off. Just use the code INSTARTR4.
I usually don’t wear green but I fell in love with the shape of this dress from ASOS and I thought the color was very fitting for the holidays! I especially love the shape of this beautiful dress and the dress has a fishtail mini train going on that really elongates your body, although it doesn’t make it as easy to walk. I added a gold bow belt and wore it higher on the waist to make myself look just a little taller ;). I loved finishing up the look with my favorite faux fur jacket and these new holiday bracelets from 31 Bits. If you never heard of 31 Bits before, they are a jewelry company that uses fashion and design to empower people to rise above poverty. Their beads are made from recycled paper and 99% of their materials are sourced in Eastern Africa, supporting local markets. 31 Bits are headquartered in Southern California and I love supporting small businesses with such a positive message. Plus the company is owned by women and I love supporting other #girlbosses!
Maxi skirts are definite staples in my closet and this yellow maxi skirt from a previous post and pink maxi skirt from another post are definitely my favorites of all time. I fell so in love with this skirt that I just had to curate it in a holiday color for Morning Lavender! I am obsessed with this gold maxi skirt and you can just see all of the flowiness in these shots. I wore a sparkly sequin crop top because hey why not, tis’ the season right?! And you know I am a big fan of pairing crop tops with maxi skirts to elongate your look. This will definitely be one of my holiday go to looks as I can see myself wearing it so many ways – with a sweater tucked, dressy white shirt tucked in or with a jacket as seen below.
It may be Monday but I’m bringing the glam today because it’s never too early to start thinking about holiday dressing! I just LOVE, LOVE the holidays and one of my favorites parts is dressing up! There are a variety of styles you can wear – sequins, gowns, glitter or textures – so many that I will try to share as many as I can with you this year!
First up is a twist on the classic little black dress by Kate Spade New York. The back of this dress has an oversized bow for that surprising wow factor and extra glam. I added some classic touches – a gorgeous pearl necklace and peep of red of course :). Stay tuned for more holiday posts!
With October almost over (it’s crazy how time flies), I can’t help but think about the holidays right around the corner. I will be styling more dressy looks on the blog to offer some holiday outfit ideas. You may remember the stunning pink version of this lace midi dress I posted back in Spring. I originally bought the non-Petite size so it was longer than this navy one you see here. Sadly the petite navy one has sold out again but you can opt for the longer length in navy or pink. I kind of love both lengths and colors so yes I have it both versions :). This look takes a pretty, but simple lace dress and dresses it up with a great faux fur jacket, glittery heels and a crystal statement necklace. Don’t you love how accessories can just change an outfit?! Stay tuned for more holiday related posts!
P.S. The hubs and I are currently in Mexico to photograph a wedding so staring at this faux fur is making me feel even hotter.
I love wearing stripes and the 4th of July is a good time as any to wear this pattern! I love this fit and flare dress from Topshop with it’s baby blue stripes and cute cutouts. This dress has a great shape that is flattering and makes you feel dainty.
We are actually photographing a destination wedding this 4th of July in Bristol, Rhode Island. We love traveling to new pieces and capturing such beautiful memories for our couples. We couldn’t ask for a better way to spend the holiday! Follow us along Instagram to see more!
Here’s another inspiration look I put together for New Year’s Eve. As much as I love being glamorous, sometimes I want to just look cute and comfortable at the same time! This outfit combines some girlie glamour with the sequins and tulle with some added edge of the leather jacket and comforts of tights and wedged booties. It’s the perfect NYE look if you want to keep a bit warmer, be a bit more comfortable and last all night dancing and ringing in 2015 :).
I know it’s only Christmas Eve but I’m already thinking ahead for New Year’s Eve! I wanted to share this NYE glam inspired look with you all. I’ve been searching for a sequin maxi skirt for the longest time and when I found this one, I knew I had to curate it for Morning Lavender! It has the prettiest shade of gold and adds instant glamour and elegance to any NYE look.
I also wanted to think my hubs for shooting my this whole year – I can’t believe it’s been a year since I launched this blog! Thanks to all of my readers for your love and support! Also special thanks to Katie B for this gorgeous holiday, glittery hair and makeup!
It’s crazy how quickly the holidays have come! I think my mind is still somewhere enjoying a coconut in Thailand =P. But with Christmas just a few days away, I teamed up with the amazingly talented Katie B and Chicwish to bring forth this festive, holiday look. I don’t always wear red, but I love wearing it for the holidays! I love this classic combination of a full skirt with a simple white top. I added some sparkly accessories and shoes for the final glamorous touches for the season.
Hope everyone is staying safe and warm and getting in the holiday spirit too!
