On today’s post, I’m sharing a very pretty off the shoulder lace dress in the prettiest shade of mauve. This dress is meant to be midi on most average heights (see dress on the model) but on my petite frame, it cuts right at my ankles when I wear heels. It’s kind of a weird spot for the dress to hit but I still think it’s a very flattering dress due to its high waisted seam. I love Spring and I’m looking forward to all of the gorgeous Spring dresses!
Stripes and denim are definitely two of my favorite trends for this Spring and what better source to find such versatile pieces than Nordstrom?! I find especially great pieces from their curated Topshop collection which is usually on trend AND also flattering on my petite frame at the same time. Once I saw this bow back bodysuit (you know me and my love for bows :)), I knew I had to have it! Baby got bows on the back!
Valentine’s may be over but that doesn’t mean you have to stop searching for gorgeous date night outfits. I love this bodycon dress because although it’s very sexy in cut and shape, I love the feminine touches in the pretty hue and the scallop detailing. Due to its bodycon nature, the dress isn’t as forgiving as others so I made sure to eat a lighter meal before wearing this sexy number! I got a “wow” from the hubs when he saw me in this so I guess he approves ;).
I previously wore this pretty sleeveless trench as a dress with high boots for Fall but here I’m showing how to wear it differently as an outer layer and as a great Spring transition piece. I paired it with one of my closet must-haves – an easy-to-wear striped dress that pretty much goes with anything. I especially love packing this dress when I travel because there are so many ways to wear it. Going into Spring, I’m also wearing a lot of booties and peep-toed shoes as I’m storing some of the bigger boots for next Fall. Here I’m wearing this comfy pair from Naturalizer and if you use my code LNL20 at checkout, you can save 20% off!
February is halfway here and I can’t believe we are almost transitioning into Spring! To transition to Spring, I’ve been updating my wardrobe with more color and more floral. This yellow floral maxi dress I curated for Morning Lavender is a pretty and perfect transition to Spring! I am obsessed with the bright pop of yellow and the flattering wrap style of the dress. Plus the high-low hem of the dress makes it petite friendly for gals like me ;).
If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with anything with bows so naturally when I found this darling Bow Dress, I was in love! The dress has a flattering fit and flare shape and the low back adds a interesting and adorable detail. This dress is perfect for your Valentine’s date night but also for a fun event or party. It has the right amount of cuteness and fun!
If you have been following my blog, you know I love off the shoulder styles. I found this burgundy red off the shoulder sweater dress and I knew it would make a perfect Valentine’s date night dress. I love the fitted shape of the dress and how it hugs your body in a flattering way. This is probably the simplest look I’ve put together for Valentine’s Day compared to past years. You can find me in dressier looks with this pink tulle skirt and this black maxi tulle skirt.
Pale Dogwood is one of the pantone colors of the year and our Morning Lavender Pleated Maxi Skirt is the perfect shade of beige nude. I love how flowy the skirt is with the pretty pleats! The skirt does run a tad long for us petite gals so I hemmed it a bit and wore some pretty tall heels. I’m also a fan of wearing skirts high on the waist to elongate the lower half of your body. I added an edge to this feminine skirt by layering it with a fitted faux leather jacket. Our Morning Lavender clothes are meant to be feminine but as seen here, if you style it a certain way, you can change the vibe of the whole look! It’s important to me when curating for the shop that I include versatile and classic pieces that many women can enjoy.
I’m loving camel so much this season and this Topshop camel coat has been on constant rotation and a staple for my closet. The coat I’m wearing here was purchased in a Petite size but it has sold out since. I linked another camel coat here. Camel is such a versatile, neutral color and I loved pairing it here with a fun color in this chartreuse, colorful mini skirt. I’m slowly adding more color into my wardrobe as we begin to transition out of Winter.
I don’t have resolutions. I have goals and one of my goals for 2017 is to workout more consistently. It’s not about losing weight or looking good but really about being healthy. I realize I’ll never have the perfect body but as I’m getting older, I’m seeing the long term effects of how you treat your body. I’ve cut out a lot of my bad habits (soda, coffee, processed snacks) and focus on being healthier and feeling better. I love that Reebok is promoting the journey of self improvement and they designed this gorgeous collection to keep you motivated and stylish!
