Can you tell by now that Spring is one of my favorite times of the year?! :). I love transitioning to the brighter colors and of course the floral prints! I fell in love with this sweetheart floral dress thanks to the big and pink floral pattern and of course the pockets. It’s a beautiful dress to wear to an outdoor wedding and has just the right amount of color, shape and flare. I’m attending a few weddings this year so it’s been fun to be on the hunt for the right wedding guest dresses. See my previous post on the perfect pleated floral maxi dress! Plus you can save 20% off these styles until 3/18/2016 4am EST using code CLOVER4!
It’s tough when you spend all that money on a dress for a wedding and you can’t wear it again :(. So it’s nice to have a versatile dress like this where you can easily add a chambray shirt like I did here and wear it like a pretty, floral midi skirt!
I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect wedding guest dress and here are some of my other favorite picks – all of which are under $150 and all on sale for 20% off thanks to ASOS’ sitewide sale using code CLOVER4 until 3/18/2016 4am EST!
My love for scallops and stripes this Spring continues! This blush scallop mini skirt is just the perfect shade of pink and the right length to make it easy-to-wear and pair with anything. Plus it matches my Chloe Mini Drew perfectly :). You’ll be seeing a lot more of this rosy pink color this year as it’s one of the Pantone colors of the year. I don’t mind – I find it an easy alternative and just as versatile as white or other neutrals.
Now that the weather is warmer and the days are longer, you will find me in more color and more maxis! It’s no secret I love maxi dresses. I use to think I was too short to wear maxi dresses and the thought of having to alter the length in maxi dresses proved too frustrating. In recent years, I started to pay more attention to the details in maxi dresses – the differences in lengths, materials, patterns and fit. I learned that with the right maxi, you can actually look taller! I recently curated this gorgeous, colorful maxi dress for Morning Lavender and I fell in love with the bold, beautiful pattern and colors. But what I also love is how the adjustable sphagetti straps and waist tie make it easy for any gal to wear – whether you or taller, need waist definition or petite like me. The vertical stripes in the pattern also play a part in adding the illusion of height which I so desperately need ;). I loved wearing this dress this past weekend in Palm Springs – it’s the perfect maxi for the perfect time of the year!
So lately I’ve been slightly obsessed with the color navy. I’ve been wanting a navy handbag and when I found this darling satchel with a gorgeous gold bow from Ted Baker, I just couldn’t resist! You know me and bows :). I also loved the scallop dress I wore in this blog post so much that I ordered the version with sleeves from Urban Outfitters. This one with sleeves is actually made of spandex and rayon and the sleeveless version is polyester so it’s of a thinner, more lightweight material. What do you guys think?! Do you like the version with or without sleeves?! I kind of love both lol.
Happy first day of Spring! I really love this time of the year and I can finally wear all of my favorite soft pretty colors (not that it really stops me in the Winter) and favorite dresses and rompers. I am obsessed with my new lace dress from ASOS! I was hesitant to buy it at first because it is a longer midi length than I am used to and being so petite, I was afraid the dress would overwhelm me. But when I got it, I fell in love with the pretty blush color, lace throughout and how beautifully the dress hung. I even got some compliments from the hubs which doesn’t happen that often lol. This dress is part of ASOS‘ salon collection – their luxury special occasion line. I think it’s a beautiful dress to wear for the spring or even to a special event like a wedding or prom. I also love how the dress looks like 2 pieces but is connected by a nude lining so it has that crop top-midi skirt look without showing any skin 😉 – very elegant and feminine!
Happy Tuesday y’all! I have been trying to make a conscious effort to post on Mondays but it hasn’t been working so well lol. We got back from Texas on Saturday and I feel like a need a vacation from my vacation. But as a wedding photographer, this is always my busiest month of the year so there is no such thing as rest! Anyhoo, I wanted to share this outfit because I am wearing my favorite new shoes and new handbag! These pieces are the perfect compliments to my already girly wardrobe. The shoes from Joe’s are especially comfortable and can be paired with almost anything! The Kate Spade handbag was more of a fun buy – I usually don’t buy purses with prints but this one was too cute to resist! I thought I deserve a lil’ fun for all the hard work this month ;).
Greetings from Austin, Texas everyone! The hubs and I are here for a work cation (meaning the hubs is working and I’m vacationing ;)). And when I say vacationing, I really mean eating everything I can possibly fit into my stomach! The husband went to college at the University of Texas, Austin so this city has a special place in his heart. I have to admit I love the vibe of this fun city and there are definitely a lot of cool places to see and delicious food to eat. Here are some of our most memorable meals in Austin so far:
(left to right, CW: (1) John Mueller Meat Co – the brisket was delicious (2) Qui – shareable plates, get the toast and short rib (3) Dolce Neve – yes those are gelato bars..hmmm… (4) Mettle – the cauliflower and steak tartar were my favorites)
Now for some fashion! For traveling in the spring/summer time, one of my must pack items is a comfortable romper. It’s great because it doesn’t take up a lot of luggage space and also because you can dress it up or down. Just add the right accessories to your romper and you can easily change up the look. I’m a big advocate of dressing appropriately for your environment.
I guess you can tell by the name of my blog that I love LACE. I mean I would wear/buy anything that probably has some sort of lace on it. Put some lace on a beautiful maxi dress and I am in heaven. I love this one from Revolve because it has such a pretty, simple back detail. It’s the perfect dress to wear on the beach, as a guest to a summer outdoor wedding or for a romantic weekend getaway. If I could sleep in maxi dresses, I would.
