It’s amazing how quickly one month has flown by! I can’t believe I’m actually a MOM and a mom to the sweetest, most adorable lil’ boy. It’s also amazing how one lil’ human can change your life completely. Our lives have been consumed with taking care of him but I wanted to carve out some time to share our birth story and give a lil’ update on these past few weeks. Jordan is currently sleeping which he does a lot of right now so here’s hoping he doesn’t wake up so Mommy can finish this post!
I’ve been wanting to share this post for so long now. With the baby almost here, we have been finally organizing and completing many parts of the house in anticipation of the fact that we might not have as much time once he arrives. I finally carved out some time to photograph our home kitchen renovation and share it with you all!
Our kitchen was definitely our biggest project after we bought our home in 2017. I can’t believe we have been living here for almost 2 years! When we saw the home, we loved the single story style, large backyard and minimal feel of the entire home. The home was move-in ready and was very well-maintained by the previous owners. The only parts of the home that we felt needed some updating was the kitchen and master bathroom (see previous post on our master bathroom remodel). The kitchen was small compared to the rest of the house and it had weird cutouts in the walls to connect the dining room and living room. Plus the cabinets and floor were just not my style. I knew immediately that we had to renovate the kitchen if we bought this house. We saw so much potential in the house and soon after, made it our home!
With my bump clearly visible now, the Morning Lavender team and I wanted to share some maternity-friendly pieces from our boutique. It’s hard to believe but I did not buy one single maternity item through my pregnancy. I basically found items in my closet (or at our warehouse) that was bump friendly – looking for items that had stretch and overall just comfortable to wear. I tried on a ton of “maternity” items from other shops but I found maternity wear to be too big on me even with my bump. I also love the fact that I can wear these pieces again after I give birth.
Last weekend our family & close friends threw us the most beautiful baby shower! It meant even more to us that the shower was at our home – a home we have been building for our growing family. As you know, it has been quite a journey to get to this point and it was exactly 1 year ago that we had our first IVF transfer that didn’t end up working out. I have dreamed of celebrating this moment with my family & close friends for so long. I still can’t believe I’m pregnant, not to mention 33 weeks along! The love & support we have received by so many people throughout this journey has been incredible and our baby boy is already so loved.
Our wedding 5 years ago was in France so we wanted to carry on the French theme to our shower. My sister and my girlfriends did the most amazing job in putting every detail together and I couldn’t feel more grateful for such amazing, strong women by my side!
And for those of you asking, I’m wearing a Morning Lavender dress of course!
I was scrolling through photos on my iPhone the other day and it’s amazing how much has happened in the past 12 months! It has been a roller coaster of ups and downs, but mostly ups as today we celebrate our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY of Morning Lavender Cafe & Boutique in Orange County! It’s hard to believe we went through our IVF journey during this first year of running Morning Lavender OC. Life isn’t always perfect but I’d like to think our story of hard work and determination will inspire others going through tough times whether it’s personal or business related.
It’s hard to believe I am already in the 3rd trimester of my pregnancy! I remember just a year ago I was preparing for our 1st IVF transfer (which failed) and here I am just 9 weeks away from meeting our baby boy! A couple of weeks ago we decided to do our babymoon in beautiful Hawaii. We love the weather, vibe and food of the islands and since I’m pregnant in the winter, Hawaii was an easy choice for our babymoon. We have been several times to Oahu but this would be our first time to Kauai. My agenda for our babymoon was just to RELAX. The holidays were definitely the busiest for us working in retail and we still have so much to do before the baby comes! So we used this opportunity to take in the beauty of the islands and just enjoy some husband & wifey time before we become a family of 3! I can’t wait to take our son here one day and see him experience the ocean for the first time!
At 23 weeks pregnant, slip dresses are a pregnant gal’s best friend and I love this champagne slip dress I’m wearing here. I dressed it up for the holidays with a faux leather jacket and some strappy black heels. It’s amazing how much my tiny bump has grown and I love finding styles that accentuate it.
Today I’m mixing up some of my favorite styles – camel, stripes and tulle :). If you follow me, you know my history and love of tulle skirts. I love that you can wear a tulle skirt with just about anything and get a different look every time. I call today’s look preppy feminine. I paired my skirt with this gorgeous camel blazer and here’s the result:
I can’t believe I’m 21 weeks pregnant – more than halfway there! Today I’m sharing a classic, feminine look that you can wear for the holidays or anytime of the year really. And you can also wear this style if you are pregnant or not! This pleated maxi skirt from Morning Lavender was recently restocked in both regular and petite sizes. It comes in the perfect nude beige shade and has just the right amount of flow.
